Mid-Shores Home Builders Association, Inc. (MSHBA) hosts annual events showcasing members’ talents, services and products, while promoting the industry and value of home ownership to the public.
The annual spring Home & Garden Expo will be held March 1-3 in New Holstein, and showcases the latest products and services available for building or remodeling a home. The expo will also feature dozens of exhibitors, large item door prize giveaways, free seminars and children’s activities.
Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker will declare April as New Homes Month, and MSHBA will jointly promote the message that home ownership builds a strong foundation for families as well as state and local economies.
In addition, MSHBA will sponsor its annual fall Parade of Homes Oct. 4-6. The parade features new home construction as well as remodeling and additions within the Calumet County area. For more information about these events, visit www.midshoreshomebuilders.com.
In addition to the spring Expo and fall Parade of Homes, members actively participate in many community service activities, a wide variety of educational programs, governmental affairs and host many social/networking events such as monthly networking and business meetings, a Cookout and Casino Night and a Trap Shoot.
Mid-Shores Home Builders Association has a long tradition of supporting charitable causes in the Calumet County area. Members look for opportunities to support and give back to the communities in which they live and work. This past year MSHBA assisted the Salvation Army of Chilton with a remodeling project, food and toy drive. MSHBA also awarded $500 educational scholarships to Tyler Schmitt of New Holstein and Jacob Haen of Brillion,
MSHBA began in 1998 as a non-profit professional trade association dedicated to promoting and preserving the home-building industry in the Calumet County area. MSHBA is celebrating its 15-year anniversary and will recognize this milestone throughout the year in its many events.
Members include builders, subcontractors, suppliers, lenders and associates who support and take pride in quality workmanship and professional practices in the building trades.
MSHBA is an affiliate of the Wisconsin Builders Association (WBA) and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). Together MSHBA, the WBA and NAHB form one of the nation’s largest and strongest trade associations.
Sean Kelly of Accurate Housing Systems was recently installed as the 2013 president of Mid-Shores Home Builders Association, Inc. by Gary Roehrig, president, Wisconsin Builders Association (WBA).
MSHBA officers also include Jason Ruebl, JMR Builders, LLC, past president and Dan Schneider, Schneider & Schneider Construction, LLC, president elect. Julie Binversie, Premier Financial Credit Union., serves as treasurer and Pam Van Dera, Bank Mutual, serves as MSHBA’s secretary.
Directors include Glenn Christel, Christel & Heiberger Builders, Inc.; Darlene Schwobe, Zander Press Inc.; Ted Birschbach, Birschbach Builders LLC; and Lawrence Hansen, Maritime Insurance Group. MSHBA’s executive officer is Tena Hartwig of New Holstein.
2012’s Builder Member of the Year award was presented to Glenn Christel and Tom Heiberger, Christel & Heiberger Builders, Inc., New Holstein. 2012’s Associate Member of the Year award was presented to Pam Van Dera, Bank Mutual, New Holstein.
Several awards were chosen by the public at the 10th anniversary Parade of Homes. 2012’s People’s Choice award winner for Favorite Overall Project was Christel & Heiberger Builders, Inc. Christel & Heiberger Builders, Inc.’s project at N8158 Highland Dr., Fond du Lac was also voted Favorite Kitchen. Kraus Construction, Inc.’s project at 2030 CTH XX, Kiel was chosen Favorite Curb Appeal and Favorite Master Suite.
