For the third consecutive year, American Family Insurance agent Cheryl Brack has been recognized for providing outstanding customer service under the J. D. Power and Associates Distinguished Insurance Agency Program.

The evaluation process consists of a customer satisfaction survey which measures customers’ overall experience with their current American Family agent. “This award helps consumers to identify the best of the best, with respect to customer service and customer satisfaction,” said Dan Schultz, American Family president and chief operating officer.

Only agencies that perform in the top 20 percent of all insurance agencies nationwide based on customer satisfaction surveys are eligible to become a Distinguished Insurance Agency.

Brack has been an agent for American Family since September 2008. Her office is located at 309 Fremont St., Kiel. This is her fifth year as an agent, and the 10th year that she has been affiliated with American Family Insurance. Her staff includes Gina Voland who is marking her eighth year with American Family and Wendy Mertens, her fourth year. Both are fully licensed in all lines of insurance which is a great benefit, said Brack.

She and her staff participate in educational updates fulfilling the required 24 hours of credits every two years and attend training courses offered by American Family on different topics.

The office is maintained by a member of the staff at all times. Brack said she makes it a point to be available to clients evenings and on weekends via her cell phone or e-mails on general questions, billing and claims issues.

Vigorous growth in new clients took place last year at the Cheryl Brack Agency. Brack said a large portion of her business growth comes from referrals by clients experiencing customer satisfaction. Quality time is devoted to clients introducing them to American Family Insurance products and helping them make fair comparisons with competitive insurance companies.

Teen Safe Driver program

Serving clients under the mantra “All Your Protection Under One Roof” American Family Insurance offers auto, home, business and life insurances. Although many insurance companies offer similar products, American Family offers a program not found among many other insurers. The program is named Teen Safe Driver.

After a teen earns his or her driver license, the importance of their safety is enhanced by the Teen Safe Driver program. It is a 12-month no cost program that combines post-license education and technology-based coaching that help correct risky behavior and bad habits.

Here is how the program works —a combined camera and motion sensor device is mounted behind the vehicle’s rear view mirror. The camera records events triggered by extreme braking and cornering, accelerating too fast and crashes. Reviewing the reports with one’s teen leads to an open conversation on safe driving tips and improved driving skills before an accident occurs. Driving behavior improves quickly. Teens make better decisions after a few weeks ad within four months parents can feel much more confident handing over the car keys.

Brack said she used the Teen Safe Driver program with her own son and it gave her much confidence allowing him to drive on his own.

In conjunction with the Teen Safe Driver program it is always preferred if parents can accompany their teens to visit with Brack on how rates are affected by one’s driving record. At such meetings she also offers and encourages young driver conversation on the types of auto insurance rate savings they receive through good student discounts.

As an outreach to the community Brack said she is always willing to inform the public about insurance programs. Recently a college student working on a special project calling for the creation of a business plan talked to her about how insurance and its cost would fit into the plan. She said she sees the importance of educating students on the high school level on personal finances and would be open to doing so if requested.

Farm insurance

Brack, grew up in rural Kiel on a farm near Louis Corners is currently undergoing some special training on farm/ ranch insurance which American Family offers. American Family’s Farm/Ranch policy is developed to fit the specific insurance needs for farm/ranch operations of all sies.

Among the various products offered by American Family is a popular product named the single premium immediate annuity. An individual locks in a lump sum of money for a minimum of 10 years or longer and then begins to receive payments back over 10 years or longer. The investment program earns a better fixed interest rate for anyone whose money is currently parked in a low interest saving account or CD and is an advantage if the money is not needed in the short term.

A whole life policy with a minimum coverage amount of $25,000 or more in which the premium is paid in full following a 10-year period is an attractive arrangement to grandparents for their grandchildren, said Brack. The policy allows the holders to make insurance purchases on uninsurable health conditions at five different points in their lives.

The Cheryl Brack Agency offers an annual personal insurance review with clients which assures that they have adequate coverages and that all discounts they are eligible for are applied. One of the coverages insured’s are remided about is the auto rental reimbursement coverage on auto policies. In the event of auto damage covered by comprehensive or collision coverages, the cost of a rental car is covered while the vehicle is being repaired or until replaced.
