Kiel Progress briefs 2013
Central House offers full menu

Koehring’s Grand Central House is a beautifully restored historical Victorian hotel in Kiel now serving as a restaurant offering a full menu.

Steaks, seafood, ribs, chicken and vegetarian entrees are available at Koehring’s Grand Central House. The full bar is a reproduction of the original front desk of the hotel, and diners can view a building filled with antiques and historic memorabilia.

Nightly dinner specials include the Wednesday night steak and lobster for $19.95. Unique, intimate dining continues to be available in the 53-foot high tower.

The building was constructed in 1892 and has been operated by Connie Brost and Fred Lubeley since 1989. When it was built it served as a gentleman’s hotel and has been in continuous operation since then. Connie and Fred first operated it as a bar and grill. In 2001 they restored the building and began operation as a restaurant.

Koehring’s Grand Central House is a recipient of the Manitowoc County Historical Preservation Award. Koehring’s is located at 602 Fremont St. For more information stop in, call 894-7630, or check out kgch.net.
