Discretion helps Nikki’s shop thrive

Running a consignment shop that becomes a successful business demands experience, discretion and establishing select criteria.

Nikki Stauss, owner of Nikki’s Nex 2 New LLC consignment shop, 1019 N. 8th St., Sheboygan owns those attributes.

Stauss knows what is current, what is quality, and what sells. Her good judgment and that of her staff improves the profit level of consignors. It also attracts shoppers who know they can depend on purchasing merchandise that is quality and up-to-date.

Signage at the front entrance to the store reads: whimsical, exceptional and collectible; affordable, sporty, or just for fun. The descriptive adjectives tell consignors and shoppers alike the kind of items carried at Nikki’s Nex 2 New.

Since age 17 Stauss was exposed to the retail business through a family entrepreneurship. She confesses that she always had a yen for shopping consignment stores. Every retail shopping experience led her to think how she might do it better.

Today, Stauss looks back to 20 plus years of retail experience, selling a wide range of products from clothing to real estate, from cars to furniture. With plenty of people and product experience she decided at one point to give consignment sales a whirl.

She opened her first Nex 2 New store in 2008 and another the following year. Those store sites were consolidated in 2010 at the Sheboygan location. Stauss loves what she is doing. “I love my consignors and the product I sell, it is my passion!” she said.

Stauss takes pride in offering an inventory that changes almost daily giving shoppers fresh selections. “At Nex2New our merchandise changes almost daily! If you don’t find what you are looking for one day, please check back the next. Chances are you will find a whole new array of merchandise!,” Stauss said.

Satisfaction assured

Assuring that the shopping experience at Nex2New is a satisfying one, Stauss promises rectifying any customer dissatisfaction. “I want your experience with Nex2New to be a positive one.
