Interactive JDM calendar cites events
The Downtown Business Association of the Plymouth Chamber of Commerce is holding its Third Annual Downtown Dairy Day on Saturday, June 9 from 9 a. m. to 3 p. m. This event celebrates the impact that the dairy industry, specifically the cheese industry, has had on the Plymouth community. Participating retail businesses will offer special deals and giveaways, along with cheese samples from local cheese companies. Addie the Cow returns this year from Sheboygan County Dairy Promotions. Children will be able to “milk” the fiberglass cow, which will be located at Fibber McGee’s, 108 Caroline St., in downtown Plymouth.

June is Dairy Month and it is a tradition in Wisconsin to enjoy Breakfast on the Farm and other great activities which support and promote the dairy industry throughout the state.

Now, thanks to a new interactive micro-site and calendar, Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board (WMMB) is making it fun and easy to take part in these events and activities.

“This year we’ve created an interactive calendar called ‘Dairy Days of Summer,’” said Heather Porter-Engwall, director of National Product Communications. The site features an interactive calendar so users can find a place nearby—or across the state—to enjoy Breakfast on the Farm and get all the details on time, exhibits and more. For those who are all about the eating, the new micro-site offers great recipes for summertime meals and treats using a range of great Wisconsin cheeses. And, if you are not up for breakfast, there are dozens more events which are great family entertainment, such as the Tour of America’s Dairyland bicycle competition which tours the state from June 21-July 1.

“Wisconsin relies so heavily on our dairy industry,” Porter-Engwall said. “It’s great that we have a whole month to celebrate the wonderful dairy products created here.” To learn more about celebrating the Dairy Days of Summer, go to
