Dr. Greg Furdek of New Holstein Family Dental has forged an agreement with Dr. Barbara Karls to work together in practice. The office of Dr. Karls will be renamed as the Kiel Family Dental Clinic. Both dentists will continue to practice, offering patients more flexibility in scheduling and an increased array of services.

Dental patients in New Holstein and Kiel will benefit from a planned merger.

Dr. Greg Furdek of New Holstein Family Dental will join forces with Dr. Barbara Karls of Kiel to expand clinical hours and dental services together under the name of Kiel Family Dental.

Dr. Furdek will also continue to operate New Holstein Family Dental.

Between New Holstein Family Dental and Kiel Family Dental, patients will have access to care every day of the work week.

“Both offices will have access to chart, records and X-rays to provide a seamless method of finding an appointment that works for the patient’s schedule,” Dr. Karls said.

No matter which office is called, patients can schedule their dental appointment any day of the work week.

Dr. Furdek added, “One of our aims is to provide high level dentistry with less need for referral to out-of-town specialists.” He will bring his expertise in porcelain crown work—allowing a crown to be fitted in one appointment. In addition to simple and surgical tooth extractions, Dr. Furdek also brings his talents in dental implant placements and implant supported dentures.

“Offering these procedures will save our patients time and money by lessening the number of appointments and drive times to specialist’s offices,” Dr. Karls added.

Dr. Furdek has operated the New Holstein Family Dental Clinic the past two and a half years, after purchasing the practice from Dr. Thomas Brandt.

Originally from Beaver Dam, he and his wife, Laura, sought to move back to this area after spending six years of active duty as a dentist for the U. S. Army in places like Oklahoma, Alaska and Kandahar, Afghanistan.

He earned his undergraduate degree at Ripon College, then attended the University of Marquette School of Dentistry for his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree. In the Army, Dr. Furdek also complete a one-year advanced dental program which focused on specialties like oral
