Founded in 1894, Bank First has grown to include 12 locations with the latest opening in Appleton in January.

The independent community bank featuring locations in Manitowoc, Brown, Sheboygan, Outagamie and Winnebago counties, is also a co-owner of a data processing center, UFS LLC, which provides data services for another 50 Midwest banks.

With 160 full-time equivalent staff members, Bank First enjoys assets that have reached $1.24 billion as of Dec. 31, 2015.

Local community bank

“It’s a local community bank,” said Michelle Rabe, vice president/branch manager. And of the staff at Bank First, she added, “We all live in this area. In fact, we’ve lived here all our lives.”

An added benefit of being a customer of Bank First is that decisions are made locally, not at some distant location. Local decisions also mean quick decisions, which helps make the financial lives of the customer easier.

Additionally, the deposit-to-loan ratio demonstrates that the bank invests its assets right back into the community. Local deposits are available for local loans, which creates a balance in the lending structure.

Their full service department provides a wide array of loans and loan services from real estate and home equity to commercial loans and more. Bank First servicing of mortgages are not sold, meaning customers can call on Bank First for the life of the loan.

In addition to the convenience of traditional online banking, Bank First also has available a mobile app, Bank First goBank, which allows users the same conveniences as online banking, plus the capability to deposit checks by simply taking a photo of a check and depositing it into their account. Popular features, such as Bill Pay and P2P (person-to-person payments) are available with online banking and the goBank mobile app.

Exceptional service

We have a close relationship with the community,” said Rabe. “We treat people the way we want to be treated. We do this by providing exceptional customer service with every customer contact. Our customers can contact our office direct for customer service instead of a call center in a distant city.”

Bank First promises clients a relationship-based community bank focused on providing innovative products and services that are value driven.
