Health care consumers in the greater Hilbert area these days have the best of both worlds when it comes to ThedaCare Physicians.

Those consumers are getting the comfort and convenience of having a local, hometown health care clinic staffed with familiar faces who are not new to the community.

They also are getting the support of ThedaCare™, a 100-year-old community health system consisting of five hospitals, 22 physician locations throughout nine counties and serving 150,000 patients with 6,100 employees.

Simply put, a world-class medical provider offers a medical clinic in the little village of Hilbert.

“We’re always looking at ways to improve the health of the community,” Schuldes added. “We try to function at the local level. We’ve had some really nice successes with our patients.”

For Schuldes, his staff and all of ThedaCare, the goal has long been better health for everyone through prevention. ThedaCare Physicians promotes that by using a chronic disease prevention and management system for the patient populations of each of its locations. Schuldes said, “The last couple years this clinic has been very successful. We’ve scored one of the highest quality scores in all of ThedaCare.”

More people seeking care

Regardless of what people think about the Affordable Care Act, Schuldes said it has brought a few more people in to get health care—often people who had
