Rachel Rolf and her fellow photographers at Treasured Moments Photography & Design in Kiel have pressed the shutter button on thousands of photographs over the years.

Since last May, however, a lot of customers of Treasured Moments have been snapping their own photos—in a special photo booth acquired by the business.

The business owned by Rachel and husband Nick purchased the photo booth last spring. While the booth arrived a little late for spring and summer wedding bookings, it did get used at several of those as well as class reunions, company outings, community picnics, area college homecomings, etc.

Reservations of the booth for this year are already looking good, the Rolfs said, and the calendar is likely to fill further following their appearance at bridal shows such as the one at Millhome Supper Club on March 22. Price specials will be available for brides-to-be booking at that show, and see Treasured Moments’ advertisement elsewhere in this section for more discount opportunities for senior graduation parties, reunions and more.

Holds as many as 10 people

The idea of acquiring a photo booth was something Rachel and Nick toyed with for several years. Nick thought about constructing one himself, but in the end and after much research they purchased a large, professional looking booth which can hold as many as 10 people at once. The features that sold them on this particular booth is that it is from a Wisconsin-based company, the booth is collapsible and sets up at the site it is being used in about 15 minutes, and its unique video capture feature.

The booth is booked for a period of time—a minimum of three hours for weddings (packages starting at $599) and two hours at non-weddings (packages starting at $475). During that time there is unlimited use of the booth, which is staffed by one or two attendants from Treasured Moments. Part of their job is not only to make sure it is running smoothly, but to encourage people to use the booth and the video message feature, show them how to use it if needed as well as wear or hold some of the fun props Treasured Moments brings along, including fake mustaches, crazy outfits, etc.

The booth offers some interesting options and entertainment at events such as a wedding. In addition to photographing and immediately printing a photo strip for guests, a second copy is automatically printed and placed in a pre-ordered scrapbook as a keepsake for the bride and groom. In addition, the photo booth also does 15-second video clips. Wedding attendees can leave personal messages— serious or humorous—for the couple who then receives a DVD at the end of the day with those messages and memories captured.

Graduation parties are another ex-ample where a scrapbook and/or video DVD is a fun keepsake for the graduate, having a scrapbook of their guests who attend and enjoy the booth. The Rolfs said they feel the video option is perfect for this event where their friends can leave their favorite memories from high school, family can leave their congratulations and wishes for the graduates’ future or anything else that comes to mind. In addition, the Rolfs will have the booth at Kiel High School’s prom this year, which they said they are excited about.

Customizing the booth

Rachel said the customizations they have implemented to their booth sets it apart from other booths. They offer a customized graphic on the photo strips which could include a name, date, photo, logo, colors, etc. Their customized scrapbooks have many cover design choices. Even page colors can be customized and different pens are available to make each one unique. They have even customized the backdrop in the booth for a customer.

More information about the booth and packages offered by Treasured Moments can be found by going to its Web site, www.photovideobooth. biz.

In 2013 Treasured Moments Photography & Design also added a new senior high school photography package to their current offerings. They have a Standard Senior Session which is about 1 to 1-1/2 hours long and up to three outfit changes; and an Exclusive Senior Session with up to five outfit changes (about 2 to 2-1/2 hours long). Each session includes indoor and outdoor photos or all of one or the other, but any travel over eight miles from the studio is charged mileage fees.

The Ultimate Senior Session is the new session added last year. It is a four-hour session with unlimited outfit changes and locations (within the four-hour time frame). It gives the senior a lot of attention, diversity and choices for their senior portfolio that they might not have time for in a shorter session.

Rachel said that this new session has been even more popular than she anticipated and has taken her to several areas she might not have been to such as De Pere, Sheboygan, Manitowoc, Elkhart Lake, several homes and more. Rachel said that with the Ultimate package and the extra travel and outfits, she always does a consult meeting with the senior and/or parent to go over outfit choices, locations, and the best order to do everything in to make the most of the four hours they have together. See the advertisement for senior session specials coming up.

Another bonus for booking a senior session with Treasured Moments is they give exclusive graduation party benefits and upgrades to their clients on their Photo & Video Booth (if you missed it check your e-mail).
