Kiel Progress briefs 2014
Lions Club serves Kiel community

The motto of Lions clubs is “We Serve,” and service is definitely what the Kiel Lions Club does.

The club joins with the Kiel Optimist Club to run the Kiel Community Picnic and the Chicken and Ham Dinner. In addition the club donates to the Thanksgiving Meals and Christmas Cheer programs, provides high school scholarships, helps with the Cerebral Palsy Telethon, contributes to the Safety Patrol, Closeup, the Salvatorian Mission Warehouse, and the Kiel Fire Department.

The club also supports Lions Camp in Rosholt, the Lions Eye Bank, Canine Companions, Wisconsin Eye Bank, Diabetes Foundation, the Kiel Boy Scouts, and Lions Pride.

The Kiel Lions Club loans out magnifiers for people who have difficulty seeing, and it purchases eyeglasses and hearing aids for people in need.

Formed in 1966, the club is always looking for new members. To join or find out more, call Pat or Cheryl Knier at 894-7299.
