While The Osthoff Resort enjoys the honor of being recognized as a AAA Four Diamond property and providing a prime vacation destination to guests throughout the Midwest, they also invite the local community to enjoy many of the resort’s premier amenities.
Neighbors may enhance their culinary skills in the custom training kitchen of L’ecole de la Maison cooking school or take in a relaxing and rejuvenating day at Aspira Spa.
From Memorial Day through Labor Day, our Lake Deck offers a variety of food and beverages to choose from as well as live weekend entertainment. Osthoff watersport rentals offer a fun way to get out and enjoy beautiful Elkhart Lake with hydro-bikes, sailboats, kayaks, canoes, paddleboats and pontoon cruises. Our younger neighbors, ages 4-10, are encouraged to participate in our supervised Summer Pleasures™ Children’s Activity Program—fish for the big one, create summer crafts or play lawn games.
If a delicious meal with panoramic views of the lake piques your interest, allow our restaurants to satisfy your taste buds. And on a grander scale, our beautiful ballrooms create an elegant backdrop for family weddings or any special event and celebration. A stone’s throw away and located right in your own backyard, The Osthoff Resort provides a variety of activities and amenities for neighbors to enjoy.
Changes and additions have always been a consistent part of the resort. 2005 brought the addition of the North Wing featuring 48 additional guest rooms and suites, a 20,000 square foot conference center, 20,000 square foot Aspira Spa and the 100-seat Lola’s on the Lake Restaurant & Lounge.
2007 marked the opening of The Osthoff’s cooking school offering workshops, one-and two-day courses. Products grown in the resort’s first organic garden gave way to an even larger and more substantial organic garden in 2010 supplying field-to-fork needs of the food and beverage outlets as well as the spa.
2009 marked the opening of the Lake Deck offering guests yet another amenity to enjoy lake views, grill food, beverages and live weekend entertainment. The Elk Room became an enhanced outlet for guests in 2011 providing relaxation and offering breakfast items, specialty coffees and teas, snack items and adult beverages while overlooking the Osthoff Reflection Pond, expansive lawn and pristine lake. The aforementioned outlets and amenities are not limited to resort guests, but are also open to the local community.
Late spring 2014 will mark yet another milestone with the expansion of the Conference Center located in the North Wing. The new Grand Libelle Ballroom will offer a lovely 10,000 square foot location to hold meetings, retreats, weddings, conferences and celebrations. The new addition will also provide the opportunity for the Conference Center to host even larger expos than before. Combined with more pre-function area, the total function space of The Osthoff Resort will total 38,000 square feet. Plans also call for additional parking, a porte cochere and garden area. Keeping in line with the Travel Green certification the resort holds, this new space will also include eco-friendly design elements and practices.
According to Lola Roeh, the expansion is also good for the Village of Elkhart Lake and the businesses within it. “We will be a destination for larger groups who previously would not have considered The Osthoff, and that means an influx of dollars for the local tourism economy, particularly during the cold-weather season when we all need it,” Roeh said.
A short time into 2014 and The Osthoff Resort is honored to have received the following accolades and awards:
n AAA Four Diamond rating for the 16th consecutive year;
n Named to the Travel + Leisure 2014 T+L 500 List of World’s Best Hotels;
n Voted 2014 Best Wisconsin Lakeshore Resort by Wisconsin Meetings magazine;
n Inclusion of Aspira Spa in the Top 100 Spas of 2013 by Spas of America.
The awards and rankings confirm the resort’s mission statement: To deliver the best Midwest resort experience to our guests. While the accolades are deeply appreciated, the vision doesn’t stop with the recognitions. Lola Roeh, general manager, said, “We are never ones to rest on our laurels and we are always looking to be a leader in hospitality trends. We are thrilled to have received the honors and interpret it as an affirmation of our culture and values.”
